SILJE JOHNSEN & MARIANNE BJØRNMYR
13.-15. DECEMBER 2013
SILJE JOHNSEN & MARIANNE BJØRNMYR is collaborating for a photographic project which will be exhibited at Small Projects as part of the RADVENT Festival.
The exhibition explores the encounter between photography and dance through an experiment around choreography and presentation. The presented images in the exhibition is a choreographed series of works in which the shape and size changes the static snapshot of a dynamic composition.
The work examines how a photography exhibition can be seen as the art of dance. Dance and photography can be seen as opposites in terms of presentation, with dance characterized as instant art and photography as perpetual expression. The meeting between the two art forms create something interesting, when the art of dance loses its quality as instant art and moved to choreograph a body in motion, to choreograph static photographs.
