“1994” is a body of work by born-free South African artist Dane Dodds. Exploring freedom of speech and what it means to be born into a newly established democratic country. This exhibition serves as a milestone in the journey that Dodds has been on with his country as they both celebrated their 20th birthday last year.
His controversial music video, "Larney Jou Poes”, he directed in 2014 for Cape Flats’ hip-hopgroup “Dookoom” is to be screened along with the back story of the journey he has been on with this film. “Remember when people were freaked out by Die Antwoord? Boy cried wolf. And now the real wolf-pack’s here.” Alice Inggs, Rolling Stone
